We loved this beautiful, luxurious, historic hotel. The artwork, the comfy sofa’s and fireplace in the lounge and bar was very inviting. Our room was on the top floor in a room with a gabled ceiling, something akin to being at Downtown Abbey, but Dutch. While we loved our room, the comfy bed, the soaking tub and sitting area overlooking the garden and pool, the next flight down on the second floor I noticed the garden terrace rooms were beautiful, with full French doors leading out to a private terrace. I wish I had known about them. The garden off the dining room was spectacular. such a pretty view.Later we walked outside and remarked that the grounds were really a small botanical garden with the 2nd largest and oldest Cinamon Camphor tree in South Africa. Really a stunning place to stay.

Great stay and great hotel, it has been on my bucket list for many years and I actually did my chef training in the kitchen 25 years ago! It did not disappoint, just lovely in every respect. Even the entry level double room is lovely and so very well appointed. I could not ask for anything more. LOVED breakfast and the buffet, beautifully presented and so tasteful, The team offered extreme care and support when my dad visited in a wheelchair. I was bowled over by their care and concern. The spa is absolutely worth a visit too and the complimentary steam session for hands-on treatment over 60 minutes. Loadshedding does not affect the hotel and its well appointed on all levels. Top notch!

Everything! From now on, we will always stay here while in CapeTown! The grounds are absolutely beautiful….feel as though you’re staying in a botanical garden. Rooms are very spacious and charming…all amenities including a private patio. Staff is extremely accommodating and friendly…all of them! The new Conservatory dining area is beautifully decorated…inside & outside seating. Breakfasts were delicious with extensive choices including a full buffet before the main meal. Dinners were very good & nice selections. Shuttle service to CapeTown and Constantia shopping center were included as well.

We had a lovely two-night stay at The Cellars. The very classical VOC building is perfectly located underneath table mountain and just 35min from the airport. Our highlight was the property‘s garden with trees that are a couple of hundred years old, a beautiful pool area, rose gardens and…two wonderful old tortoises! The Green Restaurant offers captivating views over the garden and the table mountain and the staff is very subtle and incredibly friendly. Good food, stunning interior, some duck families and the gym finish the great experience we had. Would always come back!

Everything was amazing. We wanted luxury, and we got it in bucketloads! This is, to date, the best hotel I have stayed in in the Cape. Attention to detail was 1st class. Very comfortable beds and lovely bathroom with a separate dressing area. We also had a lounge area with a complimentary, well stocked mini bar. Such a nice touch to also include bar snacks. The whole estate is gorgeous, and Constantia is beautiful. The staff were so helpful and happy! They even have a resident tortoise! Food was plentiful and delicious.
